CHIMES is a 10-week program designed to help you build a structured & effective health ministry in communities of color. All denominations and walks of faith are welcome to register. This is safe space for all participants (including those who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community). Session Dates and Topics: 1. What are the Needs? Assessing your member's and community's needs. 2. What is wellness? 3. Understanding the social determinants of health 4. The top five health disparities affecting communities of color 5. Nutrition 6. HIV and Ending the HIV Epidemic 7. Finalize your written plan 8. The Fuel for Funding and other supplementary courses taught by partners. 9. Fuel for Funding, Mental Health First Aid Course, and CPR continued 10. Fuel for Funding, Mental Health First Aid Course, and CPR continued PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS A FEE OF $399.00 FOR CHIMES. HOWEVER, SOME SLOTS MAY BE COVERED BY GRANT FUNDS. WHEN YOU RSVP, YOU WILL BE ADDED TO THE INTEREST LIST AND CONTACTED WITHIN ONE MONTH OF THE NEXT START DATE. PAYMENT PLANS ARE AVAILABLE. IMPORTANT: To register for one of the free slots for CHIMES, use this link. FREE SLOTS ARE LIMITED AND NOT GUARANTEED. Please reserve free slots for small, grassroots faith-based organizations with limited resources. Organizational resources may be used to determine eligibility. In the case of an abundance of registrations, a lottery may be used to allot free slots. This training program requires you to meet the criteria listed in this description. Criteria: The Capacity-Building for Health-Based Initiatives and Ministries with EHE Enhanced Strategies or the CHIMES program is a 10-week program that focuses on the development or enhancement of health ministries in faith-based entities (churches, ministries, groups, and other entities motivated by faith or religion) that are: 1. located in or serving communities of color, and/or 2. led by persons of color, including those led by persons identifying as LGBTQ+ in Central Florida About: This program is partially grant-funded by Gilead Compass Initiative and The Faith Coordinating Center at Wake Divinity.
